SHL Report of Foreign Holdings of U.S. Securities, Including Selected Money Market Instruments
Reporting Dates:
Report data as of the close of business on June 30, 2009. All data should be submitted to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York no later than August 31, 2009.

Description:
The SHL report is collected every five years from all significant U.S.-resident custodians and issuers. Foreign holdings of U.S. securities (including, equities, long-term debt, short-term debt, and asset-backed securities) are submitted on a detailed security-by-security basis. The purpose of the SHL report is to gather timely and reliable information on the levels and changes in U.S. international portfolio capital positions for the preparation of the official U.S. balance of payments as well as for statistical series compiled and maintained by the International Monetary Fund.
